Registered Behavior Technician Course (40 hour) In-Person/Zoom

Class hours are from 8:30am to 6:30pm on each of the following Saturdays with a working lunch.  You must attend all classes to meet the 40-hour BACB Requirements for training certificate. 

Eight (4) Saturdays through out April and May. Class dates are:

April 22, 29, and May 6, 13, 2023

Package includes lecture notes, 1 mock exam, practice worksheets to assist with course examples, and visual study guides for preparing for the board exam.

About the Course:

Registered Behavior Technicians work in home-care environments, in centers, or in schools providing one-on-one therapy and behavioral assistance to those diagnosed with autism, other developmental disabilities, and behavioral disorders. They are responsible for implementing behavioral plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts and collecting and charting data on the progress and improvement in the abilities of the clients they work with.

This course is advanced training that consists of 40 hours of in-person skills instruction provided by Board Certified Analysts with over 15 years of clinical and training experience. 

The focus on the instruction will be on The Second Edition, Registered Behavior Technician Task List, published by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Instruction topics include:

• Measurement

• Assessment

• Skill acquisition

• Behavior reduction

• Documentation, Reporting, and Professional Conduct

• Ethics

• Scope of practice

Participants will not only learn terminology, concepts, and methods but will be continuously engaged in role playing scenarios to work towards application and skill competency. A small class instructor-to-participant ratio will allow participants to receive individualized attention and ongoing feedback. Participants will also receive practice examinations. 

This course will prepare participants to take the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) exam but will not guarantee a successful passing of the exam. It will also include a mock competency assessment. Formal competency assessments required to obtain the RBT certification can only be conducted by the participant’s supervising behavior analyst and will be offered by the organization teaching this course.
