Intro to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Course
This course includes 20 hours of introduction to applied behavior analysis.
Instruction is provided through live Zoom Conference by Board Certified
Behavior Analysts with over 15 years of clinical and training experience.
The focus of this instruc??on will be on why problem behaviors emerge and how
to respond effec??vely; tools and strategies to prevent problem behaviors;
teaching techniques that promote the acquisi??on of adap??ve skills with both
individuals and groups; the importance of evidence?based interven??ons and measurements; and the importance of
reinforcement schedules and how to use reinforcements properly. A small class instructor to participant ratio will allow
participants to receive individualized attention and ongoing feedback.
This course is ideal for individuals working as Behavior Assistants needing to fulfills APD’s training requirements, as well
as direct support professionals, teachers, therapists, or parents and relatives seeking additional information and
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Course
This course is advanced training that consists of 20 hours of in?person skills instruction provided by Board Certified
Behavior Analysts with over 15 years of clinical and training experience. Twenty (20) hours of an Intro to Applied
Behavior Analysis a pre?requite to take this course.
The focus of the instruction will be on the 2nd Edition, Registered Behavior Technician Task List published by the
Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Instruction topics include measurement, assessment, skill acquisition,
behavior reduction, documentation and reporting, and professional conduct, ethics, and scope of practice.
Training will be held through live Zoom conferencing, and will be highly interactive and experiential. Participants will
not only learn terminology, concepts, and methods, but will be continuously engaged in role?playing scenarios to work
towards application and skill competency. A small class instructor to participant ratio will allow participants to receive
individualized attention and ongoing feedback. Participants will also receive practice examinations.
IMPORTANT NOTES: Participants are not required to take the Intro to ABA and RBT courses consecutively but, in accordance with BACB
guidelines, the combined 40 hours of instruction needs to be completed within 180 days.
This course will prepare participants to take the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) exam but will not
guarantee a successful passing of the exam. It will also include a mock competency assessment. Formal competency assessments required to
obtain the RBT certification can only be conducted by the participant’s supervising behavior analyst and is not included as a part of this course.
